Expo 2020 Dubai

1 October 2021 – 31 March 2022

Universal Expositions are great international events that in six months manage to give a cultural, educational and commercial experience to visitors and all Participants.

Expo allows international dialogue between citizens, countries and institutions around a topical issue of universal interest and helping to strengthen cooperation between peoples. Modernity, technological development, transformation of living and growth of cities, attention to the environment and cultural dialogue between the participating countries outline the fundamental character that every international exhibition must assume. These objectives have been translated from the mid-nineteenth century to today into architectural works that have become famous, art exhibitions open to international comparisons, urban changes that are often radical and on a scale, exceptional opportunities for invention and communication.

Organized by the nation that won a bid competition, the Exhibition is held within a specially equipped Exhibition Site and offers an opportunity for the participating countries to meet and share, invited through diplomatic channels. The hosting Country has the opportunity to show the world the best of technological innovation, national production and cultural tradition, but also to strengthen international relations in numerous areas.

Expo 2020 Dubai is the Universal Exposition held in the United Arab Emirates from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.

Expo will bring together millions of people in the United Arab Emirates for "the greatest show in the world", internationals in the 170-year history of World Expositions, celebrating human genius and achievements under the theme "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future".

The six months from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2022 will be a unique time to be part of an unprecedented event. A global show with something for everyone, Expo will wow visitors with 60 daily events in over 185 days open, displaying the best of music, technology, creativity and culture, while 200 F&B shops will feature famous chefs and signature dishes from every corner of the World.

Expo 2020 will be an endless journey of discovery of the pavilions of 200 participants - including 192 nations, multilateral organizations, businesses and educational institutions - coming together to highlight real solutions to the world's most pressing challenges.

Due to the Covid 19 coronavirus pandemic, Expo 2020 Dubai has been postponed by one year from the initial opening date scheduled for 22 October 2020 but for this reason it maintains the same name, logo and date of 2020 even if it will take place from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 31 2022.

It is the first World Exhibition to be held in the Middle East and 25 million visitors are expected and 70% of the visitors will come from abroad and not from the United Arab Emirates, but above all from the ME.NA.SA (Middle- East-Gulf, North Africa and South Asia).
